Bassetlaw District Council has formed a partnership with the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) based in Massachusetts, USA, where the Mayflower first moored when it arrived in America in 1620. The partnership’s goal is to strengthen ties, both cultural and educational, between the two regions in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s voyage. Bassetlaw District Council produced a video in support of their grant submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund to further their activities to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims departing England for America, and PMPM Executive Director Dr David K. Weidner is featured in this video as he was interviewed during a visit to Bassetlaw District in July.
